Dr. Lucas Teyo is a distinguished leader with over 20 years of experience in product development and business strategy in the renewable energy sector. As the Director of Energy and Technology at CarbonTrace, he spearheads the Energy and Technology Department, guiding the Engineering, Project Management, and Technology Divisions.

Dr. Lucas brings a wealth of expertise in renewable technologies to his role at CarbonTrace, with a specialized focus on advanced biogas, biomass, and innovative waste-to-energy technologies. He has a robust track record of developing and executing large-scale renewable projects, with extensive experience in conducting detailed technical feasibility studies, engineering design, and comprehensive project implementation. This includes strategic planning, meticulous procurement processes, and effective construction management.  

Drawing from Dr. Lucas' extensive experience in renewable technologies, he leverages technology-based solutions to effectively tackle the challenges associated with sustainable energy and waste management. Dr. Lucas holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Malaya and is affiliated with leading industry organizations such as the American Solar Energy Society, the International Solar Energy Society, and the IEEE. He has more than ten high-ranking peer-reviewed international publications that attest to his expertise in the technology field., underscoring his significant contributions to renewable energy technology.
